?Alternates Beijing Bound?

As some may know, there were earlier reports that the women's artistic gymnastics alternates (Jana, Ivana & Corrie) were not going ot be able to travel to Beijing, due to VISA issues.

I found a report on NBC Olympics.com that states they may be able to work these issues out and get to Beijing after all. I certainly hope the best for them!

Here is the link:

Can't wait for the games to begin!

Oh, I hope they get to Bejing! They should be able to train with and support their team, whether they actually compete or not. They've earned the right to be there.

I couldn't agree more, well-said! Whether or not you do, or don't, like these particular athletes, getting this far & being named alternate to the team is still a big accomplishment.

My still-unanswered question is: Do any of the Olympic alternates get to participate in the Opening Ceremonies?
