Gymnastics Camp

I know it's early, but is anyone planning to go to summer gymnastics camp? My DD went to IGC last summer, but we're looking at Woodward for this summer.. possibly the week beginning July 6. Anyone else thinking that far ahead yet?

I went to IGC a couple summers ago. I was a level 5 and about 10 years old, but I was placed in the wrong group much lower then I should have been so then I had to show the guy in charge of groups or whatever what I could do so then I moved to a higher group for the last 2 days..... I had a lot of fun but I didn't really get any new tricks because unfortinitely I was in a lower group for 3/5 days........ I am probably going to go to Flip fest camp in Knoxville TN.

How did your daughter like IGC? I loved it but my parents didn't allow me to go back after I was in the wrong group...... I wanted to go for 2 weeks the next summer lol

My girls go to gymrep in Quebec every year. Oldest has been for four years, it was the first year for little Bog last years, they would live there for the whole summer if I would let them. They are always challenged, the groups are loosely based on levels, but within each group girls work on skills that they are able to.

www.gymrep.com check it out, it's very cool and we love the outdoor aspect of the programme, also great French immersion. There were girls from the US, Mexico and France there last year. Coaches come from all over Canada and France. Activity supervisors come from Canada, UK and even Australia.

Also it is a great deal pricewise.

DD will do a week at our gym. She is too young to actually go any where else. THey do a week there for 4 hours a day. We did it last year and it was great. She only did 3 of the 5 days which worked out great. It was a pre-team / Level 4 camp.

flipfest is awesome...have you ever been before?
Our optional team goes every year.
Are you going as a team or by yourself?

My DD will go to Woodward this summer. It's only about a 4 1/2 hr. drive from here. I've heard great things about Flip/Fest... unfortunately it's too far to drive and since she's never flown by herself before, I just feel like why add that extra expense/stress when Woodward is so close. Yes, she did go to IGC last year and loved it, but the only criticism that I've heard is that they spot you on EVERYTHING... so she never got a chance to actually DO something by herself... She wants to try Woodward (that seems to be the place all the local gyms send their team girls), so she'll go there and compare.

Gymgymgymnast08 - I can't believe you were placed with a group below your skill level... they're usually so careful in their workout group placements!

My girls camp was booked and paid for the day we picked them up last summer. The camp sells out so fast, there are only about 5 places left now for the whole summer.

We have looked at Woodward in PA for the girls, but we'll wait until Liitle Bog is older as it is much more free flow than the camp they go to now. I think she is too young for all that freedom.
