Mixing other sports into certain skills....

Been hearing some interesting techniques lately about undersomersault with a half turn (peach HS with a half turn) on parallel bars. The dynamics of the skill seem to present one technique that is very similar to how a pole vaulter would shoot over the bar in pole vaulting. If you can mentally picture it, the technique is very similar in its presentation and break down. Was wondering if there are any other skills out there that present another sports technique to use in gymnastics...any thoughts/ideas/suggestions???
