Freshman
Corey Hartung received the University of Florida gymnastics team's Outstanding Gymnast award Wednesday evening at the team's annual banquet, held in the University Women's Club. Hartung, who also was named the team's Outstanding Newcomer, led the team with 15 event titles in 2006. At the NCAA Championships last week in Corvallis, Ore., she earned All-America first team honors for balance beam and floor exercise plus was an All-America second team member in the all-around. Her three All-America honors is the most for a Gator freshman since Betsy Hamm collected four in her premiere season in 1998. She turned in or shared the Gators' top 2006 marks for all-around (39.45), uneven bars (9.90) and floor exercise (9.95).
