I can see that Mama Bieger could be a respectable coach...

who says she is not fave? Sounds like you appreciate the way that she runs her gym, and that is great insight from an insider IMO.

oh really? You obviously have never heard about how she's is spoken about in the elite community. I'm VERY familiar with MLT or xxxxxx as she's known to most.

I have left this alone because I wanted to see where it would go, but is has now gone where it should not.

I have reminded members before not to drag GGMB speak on here, we are not that kind of board at all. We have an under 18 crowd that reads everything, that needs to be respected. It is one of the reasons I am a member of both boards.

I appreciate that there are differing views on coaches, but the OP wanted to know who you would want to coach, please stick to the topic.

I suppose I beleive she's not a fave here b/c Jana is not a fave here. Guilty by association & all that. But anyway, you are right. I do respect the way she runs the gym, even if I don't know much abot the elite world and/or coaches.

I always wonder if coaches like Beiger and Valeri Liukin wouldn't end up favoring their own children over the rest of the team.

Being from region 5 ,I would go with John Geddert. Though I do like Chows style of coaching as well. I was surprised however at the Jiani wu response. In our area she has only lived here 4 years and switched gyms 3 times already.

Love John G - and he seemed to mesh well with my dd as well. This would have been a good match.

Jiani is an awesome coach IMO, and I feel did great things for her last gym. I am very pleased to see what she has done for her current gymnasts & the fact that they followed her speaks volumes for me. Also, current gym is her original gym. Our coaches are the same in that they have moved gyms several times & former gymnasts switch with them as well, I really love their coaching style - many coaches switch gyms - the elite coaches just tend to have a higher profile. Par for the course.

Of course being a coach I have a different perspective but, respect everyones opinion here. Most coaches do get a loyal following and many gymnasts and parents that would follow them anywhere. IMO most elite level coaches seem to own or stay put for many years growing with their gymnasts. Just like anything else you have to know your child and be able to pick a coach that can not only work with her as a gymnast but be able to read her as an individual person . One of my daughters as well was a great mesh with the Gedderts at their camps and clinics but, the for other it just was not a good fit.

It probably helps this theory that the majority of elite coaches also seem to own there own gym
