Her coaches are great at remembering her age and totally are fine with this and she wakes up the next morning saying that she had a fun day, but she is ready to go back to team practice...

I think it is a ton to put on a little one even if they enjoy it, so we try to have a mandatory "act like a kid" day here and there...

Just my 2 cents
I have to agree with ccwain. While my dd was in the gym 9 hours a week this past summer for the level 4 practices (only 5 at the time), she never complained until the end of the summer. So, I said, hey, you want to skip a day and do something else? She said yes and that was that. She went back the following practice with a new attitude! She's 6 now and getting ready for her first meet. I think the beginning of the season is always toughest because not only are the hours longer, the days different, but they're also getting used to school again and homework, etc.

Good luck to you and dd in her Level 4 season!

Hello there!
My name's Britt...
I'm a level 7/8 gymnast right now, but your post caught my attention.
I started gymnastics when i was three, however i quit when i was 8.
I had competed 2 years of level 4, but i competed a whole lot of meets in those two years. Pretty much i had burned out very quickly. Before i started competing, i had trianed with the team girls for about a year. About a 2 years ago i started cheerleading at my school and when we started taking tumbling classes at my original gym, i fell in love with the sport all over again, and when my cheer season was over i went back to competition team, competting last season as a level 6 and the new season is about to begin! Anyway, i didn't get on here to ramble about me! i'm tryin to help you out! What i'm trying to say is this: if if your daughter is unhappy in the gym, you'll see it soon enough, and if she is, who knows! she may come back to the sport again! Hopefully i helped a little bit!

Britt
