I saw your post in the parent forum. I have just finished my seventh season as a member of the local YMCA team. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I have had amazing comradery with my teammates; some of them are my sisters and best friends. All the parents get along really well(for the most part). It's a great environment to learn, without being pushed too hard. Even though we have a superb Highschool team for my school (3-peat state champs), i have turned down many offeres to compete for them because I would miss the Y too much. The YMCA core values(Honesty, Respect, Caring, and Responsibility) have already helped me in my quest for a college. I'm not surre exactly what you were looking for, but I think the YMCA would be a great decision for anyone who isn't going for Olympic fame.
