I auditioned for cirque back in October. Didn't quite make the cut; they said I lack form and control (which is what my coaches have been telling me for 15 years).
I'll definitely be trying again eventually. Even if you don't think you'll make it, the audition process itself is a blast (and they give you a sweet poster). To any other high-level gymnasts, I highly recommend you make a video of yourself and send it in to cirque. They've got info on how to send in an audition video in the casting section of their website.
I, along with my friend Chris Aycock (first guy ever to land a triple back on inline skates), will be filming auditions this summer at woodward.

I've seen a few Cirque shows...they are outstanding.
I have also heard that it's a pretty though lifestyle to be a Cirque performer. Does anyone know what they pay? I'm interested...gymnasts spend their early years training hard, but there is never a payoff (financially, that is). There is no pro gymnastics like football and many other sports. Can someone make a decent living with Cirque...or do they turn you into a nomad, a carny?
