I didn't ask because it is not something I need to worry about - DD is currently L3 and she didn't get to go to states because NC does not have L3 states (some states do) - She would have qualified if they had them, so that is kinda exciting.
In our state, sectional is the highest meet for Level 4. Levels 5 & 6 have to qualify at Sectionals to the state meet. There's only one sectional for each area North and South. The top 72 from each sectional qualify to the state meet.

Hi Meg! It was great to meet you yesterday! It's great to be able to put a face to a name!
I know you must be exhausted.... our gym hosted their first meet this past March. Lucky me, I got to be the chairperson for concessions. I think I was a walking zombie for TWO DAYS after the meet was over! HA!

I'm glad your DD had a great meet too. Katy was just beaming the whole way home... she was one of the 2 "blue ribbon" winners for the Session. We just saw that the L5 scores have been posted and she came in 7th out of 128 (I think)... so she's just thrilled. Now, States will be another story, since ALL of the girls will be there!

Gotta run to, where else, gymnastics!

-Lynn

I am so glad your dd had a great meet. Isn't it wonderful when things go well and they are so happy? I hope you had some fun in Virginia Beach. State competitions were held there alot and we loved going! Now I know...she is a Level 5!!!

Awesome routines for your DD Lynn! That's me on the end in the aqua sweater timing on beam! The beam judges were really nice. I enjoyed timing but I was sure I was going to be seeing beam routines in my sleep. You all had the tiniest Level 4 gymnast on your team. We thought she must have just turned 6, but my friend (who was entering scores on beam and handing out the ribbons) asked her and she said she would be 7 in June. We could not believe it! She looks maybe 4 years old. She was just adorable!!

Hi Meg! Yes, I saw you timing the beam routines! I wanted to shout out "That's my Katy!" I bet you were exhausted after the meet is over! Our gym had it's very first home meet this past March, and I swear, I was EXHAUSTED for two whole days after!

Kelly IS a tiny little thing. No one can believe she's almost 7! Her "little" sister is much bigger than she is! She is adorable, isn't she?

Is your DD gearing up for States? One of our coaches hasn't been feeling well this past week, so the L5 girls have all been practicing "optional" skills (as the owner called it). They've had fun, but they NEED to polish up their routines! Supposedly they'll get back to work this week!

Lynn, yes we have State in a month so that is what we will be working toward. L needs a ton of work on her floor, though beam and bars look pretty good. I don't know if vault can be improved at all. It's been the same all year long no matter how much she works on it. We just got our session time - 8:00 a.m. Sunday - which does not make me happy as my kiddo is not good in the morning. Oh well, we will just have to deal with it.

Meg
