Cast to handstand, then one leg pikes down, followed quickly by the other. The gymnast does a toe circle but lets go toward the bottom and then somehow....the movement seems to defy the laws of motion and gravity....the gymnast opens up and catches the high bar.

What is the name of the release part?

Toe Hecht, Chinese sit-up, a hiccup..there are a few nicknames for it. :) In our gym we call it a Chinese sit-up but I've heard all 3. And I'm sure there are probably more!

toe shoot here - we have a L8 who struggled with her pirouette but has a nice toe-shoot and got by with that instead at states. That's the only one I've seen competed here.

Yep. This skill has a million names. Most of the ones that I have heard used have already been mentioned above. Lol

At my gym, most people refer to this as a toe-on piked-mo. But some call it a toe-on sole circle to catch. At my gym my coach refers to a straddle undershoot with late release on the low bar to catch the high bar as a mo.
