Never any problems on full turn (on beam), until she stepped behind at comp last weekend. Now she can't do it at all without stepping behind (and thus devaluing the skill). Anybody got any great full turn tips?

Half to hold, repeat , repeat, repeat, repeat...... I am sure the beam coaches here have plenty to add. :).

What coachp said.
With some gymnasts it helps to have them working bad leg turns for a while, so they can really concentrate on technique without bad habits kicking in. I bet she is franatically thinking about not putting the foot down before she even started to turn. ;)

Spot an object and repeat. Have her find an object directly in front of her, then when she turns she needs to spot that object.

Agree with coachp.
If necessary, spot her while doing this, really focussing on keeping that darn leg in place until she completes the turn. Then let her do it on her own (or start at this step). Then move on to full turns, following the same steps.

In addition to all of the above, she can do them in front of a wall, ending in releve with her knee against the wall. This forces her to stay tall & end forward.

In addition to all of the above, balance on releve, spot each half, pull up, etc., she also may be leaning back that is why she is stepping back. Some girls try to control a turn (put the "brakes" on a turn) by pulling back and leaning back. Wherever your weight is at the end of the turn, if it is not centered, is usually where you'll fall out of.
