Ad preventing scrolling

There's an ad that came up today (Osphena?) that prevents scrolling while it plays a video. Whether I scroll up or down, it snaps the browser back to put that video in view. I couldn't read the thread where the ad was displayed.

My best advice is to join the booster club, that way you get no ads!!!

Saw one of these just now for Blue Plate mayonnaise. Booster club or not, these kinds of ads are seriously disruptive and ought not to be allowed.

Well we do not choose the ads that are here, the ads you see are based on your past searches and some fancy calculations.

This place costs a fortune to keep up and running. The admins/mods do not get paid. Ads are really the only way for us to stay online.

I am having that problem on another forum. My quick and dirty fix is to reload the page until it randomly chooses an ad that isn't a video.

I had the same problem yesterday on a computer at the gym.

Joining the booster club certainly would solve it, but I still think we should get rid of ads like that if we can, not least because it's a completely obnoxious advertising gimmick.

The video ads are annoying but least I've only had Disney videos - it could be worse!
