My Dd's scores looked like this:
Level 4: 35AA
Level 5: 36AA
Level 7: 37AA

She skipped level 6 and the first half of the level 7 season was a bit shakey as she was trying to figure out bars with no grips and hated chalk, so HC put her in grips half way through the season. Bars took a hit because of it but she's happy now that we've gone through 3 brands! Lol So, she is a good example of scoring better in optionals!!

The first year of L5, our team didn't have any. This past year, we had 5 girls compete L5. They are all moving on to L6. I am betting all of their AA scores will go up (31.0 - 32.7 high scores), even if their bar scores stay about the same.
BUT, I can say that we had a girl score out of Old L6 so she wouldn't have to compete L5 that first year. In Old L5, her season high score was a 34.0. She scored out of Old L6 with barely a 31.0. Her first year of New L6, she had a season high of 33.7 (bars killed her... 7.9 high score). This season, she repeated L6 and her season high was 34.275 (bars are up to an 8.3 high score).
