We are purchasing some new mats for our facility. We are selecting colors for the various panel mats and I have a quick question. Does anyone know if the vaulting mat for level 4 is required to be a certain color? We have a red resi-pit but wondered if the mat must be blue for competition. Thanks!
I have had a red mat at my level 4 competitions but that was 2002-2003 so I have no idea if its allowed now. but im pretty sure it is.

I doubt there are any color specifications because you can have pretty much any carpet color and there are a fair amount of gray and red ones out there (in addition to blue). I've seen red 8 inchers on top of the L4 resi a lot as well so it doesn't seem like it would matter if the whole thing was red either, but don't quote me on that.
I doubt color means anything. I've been to meets where we had a big gray blow up thing as the level four vault. So I am sure a red resi mat would be fine.
