Are you sure? I thought it was a C tucked and a D piked.
I meant a double-twisting tuck. I'll have to double check, but I'm positive I remember seeing it listed as a D.
Hehe. To clarify about the vault comment: I really like vault myself. It's one of my favorite events (in fact, it might even be my favorite aside from floor). I just don't think it covers any ground that isn't covered by floor.
Actually, our gym is pretty strong on vault. I consider one of our coaches to be one of the best vault coaches in the state.

a double tuck for sure is a D, if it was a C my level 8's would be doing them. Double tucks off bars are a C, maybe thats what you were thinking of.
as far as the jump, single full twisting tuck jump is a B, a double may be a d...dunno though.

I think that gymnasts should be awarded for effort when you are at a practice meet here if we don't get in the top 6 we get punished by doing laps around the school and if you get 1st you get to run a practice you get to yell at the other gymnasts and tell them what they have to do for conditioning and one girl alawys gets first she has litterally done gymnastics since she could walk her mom was an awesome gymnast she was going to go to the olympics but she broke her ankle and she could not put any pressure on it but she practiced gymnastics anyway and made it worse so she was never able to do gymnastics again so now she is a coach and pushes her daughter very hard if her daughter gets second then she has to run home which is like 2 miles away from practice. Honestly I think katie should quit and tell her mom to stop being so harsh.

Wow. I think I'm going to agree with you on all of those things. But that's not an issue with the sport, that's an issue with the gym.

Me too. Our gym is quite small, especially as gymnastics isn't a very popular sport at a serious level here, so we basically have to take anyone who can come. A girl in my team comes maybe two or three nights a week. Everyone else does at least five, but mainly six. When she does come, she takes up all the coaches attention because she needs to be helped in some way and then sits out the rest of the night because "it hurts" . The rest of us, who manage to do all of the training and put up with it, homework, studying and exams at the same time, get basically no attention but there's nothing we can do about it because her mum's on the gym Committee and also (no matter how much I think about this I can't understand it) she nearly ALWAYS medals at competitions. And sometimes, you've worked so hard and then this girl who doesn't work at all beats you by a good three points.

I know exactly how you feel, the same thing happened to me when I did gym. Except for me, the gymnast just didn't really feel like doing anything so she'd talk to the coach the whole night. I definitely think there should be some sort of award for effort; that would be a really nice addition to the sport.

Once in a while, I go to a meet and when they do the awards, no only do the people who win medals and stuff salute, they call up all the competitors and they salute as well. It feels nice when people clap for you, even if you don't place. I wish people in this sport didn't focus so much on age, and being in the Olympics or something...

I guess I'll be harsh in my response. You're coach that punishes you for not getting top 6 should be shot(kidding). You do not treat kids that way, ever...period. And the mother needs to quit living through her daughter.

Agreed. I'd switch gyms, honestly.

I would definitely take out the dance of the floor routine and just have requirements and requirements no novelty dance. My beam routine is requirement after requirement because basically I would just get points taken off If I did useless dance elements. But what can I say i'm not a dancer. I'm one of those powerful non dancer gymnasts.
