Clear hip/ Free hip

What is some advice for making a clear hip into a kip?

Drop hard, head neutral or in, body hollow. Really focus on the aggressive drop to candlestick. As little shoulder angle over the bar as necessary.

Learn what it's all about in pulling the bar down and timing the free hip up with the bar going up.

It's all about timing. Don't wait for your hips to get back to the bar the way you would for a back hip; aggressively drop your check back before your hips get back to the bar.

Great advice guys!! As far as getting the kip out of it, try working cast away kips that bring your feet back into the bar before gliding out. Then, do the clear hip and to complete the kip afterwards bring your toes back by the bar then extend them out into the glide (as you did with the cast away kips).
