gymjourneymom,
if you get any good tips about wrist strengthening from your physical therapist, I would love it if you could share them with me. I am in the exact same situation with my dd....she just started complaining and I haven't had the chance to speak to her coaches about it yet. They did tell another girls to get the wrist guards, and this is something I would like to avoid if possible.

I am on my way out the door to go coach, but there are a few exercises that I used to do for my wrist. When I get home tonight I will try to find some pictures online so that I can give you a visual and textual representation. Most of the exercises were the ones that I was given during Physical Therapy after my wrist reconstruction.

Here are some that I did:

http://www.holisticonline.com/remedi...-exercises.htm

http://www.cyberpt.com/cptvid57.htm
Something else i did:
Close your fingers so they touch your thumb (like you have a sock puppet with a closed mouth), place a rubberband around your fingers and thumb to provide resistance, then try to open your hand (such as you're opening a sock puppet's mouth). Do 25 to start and continue to increase number as needed.
