Interesting how different it is. I wonder if it is different in areas that were hit hard with cases and deaths. All the parents I know from when my daughter competed have sent their kids back to team gym workout in Arizona. But I did hear they are still offering Zoom workouts somehow for the...
Arizona opened up workout gyms, so most gymnastics clubs seem to be opening up. My kid doesn't do gymnastics anymore, but she coaches. Her gym has opened up for some teams, small groups and is working on a re-opening plan. Many of the BIG gyms are open as of 5/18 and are even offering summer...
I think it is odd they let her coach with a crop top on, our coaches have a dress code and crop tops aren't allowed, and being that they do, odd they don't do see it as a safety issue. It wouldn't be a discussion for my kid as much as, you will cover it or cover your stomast or you won't coach...
I definitely hope you send it to USAG, this is the most common abuse in gymnastics I've decided after years in the sport as a mom and in talking to parents st gyms across the country . I hear it all the time in various degrees and forms.
Your daughter's is one of the worst I've heard though of...
I don't know what keeps my daughter in it. As much as she's been though mentally (tough coach, mental blocks, mind games) and physically (dealing with a chronic injury that isn't serious, but causes pain every day), I don't understand why she still goes in day after day and gives it her all...
It is often the meet host that us at fault for scoring not being up. I've done scoring for meets before and you have to have internet connection to upload scores and it has to be a good connection. We only posted after each session and if it got crazy, sometimes wouldn't post until after the...
I'm in that boat, where I torn between supporting my DDs love for the sport and encouraging her to move on. She still loves gymnastics, but I don't think she will reach her goals at her gym for various reasons and I hate seeing her work so hard and not get the coaching she deserves. She's old...
Lots of free time and when my daughter went there was a skateboard camp at the same time and it was not a comfortable feeling for me. Free time and lots of boys. Lol. It was super structured if I recall. But an older, focused kid might be fine. Great facility.
Chalk doesn't seem so bad, but I noticed at P&Gs, Riley McCusker (and maybe others, I just saw her) soaked the beam for her wolf turn. Seems unfair for those going after her and unsafe?
USAG is just as guilty, perhaps more guilty, than Nassar. They covered up abuse for years. Sure Nassar adds to the issue, but USAG made their own mess by not protecting children.
Yes, it is ran by a high school student. She's an amazing young lady who loves gymnastics and has taken her love of the sport to many different levels.
