Parents Injury......need some opinions if I am overreacting.

I think they were shocked. and she did get up, but she said it was a few seconds not right away. she said when she went over the coach asked if she was ok, she said her neck and head hurt and they iced her head, asked her the standard concussion questions, then she iced for about 10-15 min, then...

yes the coaches both saw it. they said they did. and they were freaked out by it according to them, they said it "looked really bad" this is what they told me at the end of practice. They knew and saw exactly what happened. which is what makes it all worse to me.

Parents Injury......need some opinions if I am overreacting.

I am going to be talking to the coaches on Monday. My dd told me when she fell neither coach came over to her. She said she was on the floor for a few seconds then got up and she went over to the coach, who then asked her questions related to concussion. This just is really making me more upset...

Agree with all of this and its why I feel i need to speak with them. I am going to send an email and cc the head coach.

So my 13 yo dd had a freak accident at practice last week. Doing a skill she has done a million times. It resulted in her falling from about 5 feet in the air and landing on her back, with her neck/shoulder area hitting first, head hit the floor too. This happened about 1 1/2 hr maybe 2 hr into...

Parents DD Dropped a bombshell on me about her gym

I agree with this. Red flags. Did you cut short your dd's 2 week vacation? To the OP i agree, i wouldnt have my dd in that gym for one more minute.

Parents Xcel vs JO ( separation)

I am tempted to say something to the xcel coach on the observations. And i am not the only one who notices it, but when the girls start to notice, thats when it really starts to bother me.

Parents Xcel vs JO ( separation)

We all have the same leos/warm up suits. Practice is part together and part separate.

Parents Xcel vs JO ( separation)

Disclaimer, this ismlong has some backstory where I speak in old level numbers. My dd did JO up thru old level 4. Then our gym decided to beef up their Xcel program. At the time ( it was late spring) they said she could either compete level 4 again but she would not move up to Level 5 because...

    Parents Sleep Over meets

We do one travel meet a year that requires sleep over. We are told we HAVE to attend every session. So that means between jo and xcel 2 days. 7 other sessions give or take, besides the one my dd is in. Thats a lot of gymnastics to watch. :)

    Parents Sleep Over meets

Just curious if your gym does this and how far away you travel. Are the meets you travel to big? Are they held at the host gym or at another venue? Do all the gymnasts go to all the sessions of the meet? Just curious how it works for others.

    Parents Ganglion cyst?

There isn't any definite known cause but there are theories that it could be from trauma to joint tissue. Repeated stress to he wrist in other words. Like in gymnastics. they are common in gymnasts

    WAG Is this unsafe coaching?

Yes I was glad too:) she would not do it without the spot. She was so happy after practice and feeling really good!

    WAG Is this unsafe coaching?

I guess the coach knew something I didn't. My dd got the layout on floor. He spotted a few then stepped away and off she went on her own, it was a beautiful thing!

    Parents Ganglion cyst?

My dd has one. It flares up occasionally. I wouldn't jump into surgery just yet. Unless its so big it's causing pain and mobility issues. They usually will come and go. Immobilizing her wrist can help. Also doctor can aspirated to get it down. Also our chiropractor does laser treatments to them...

    WAG Is this unsafe coaching?

So I asked her if there had been any drills or progressions for the layout. If they did them on the tumbletrack etc. and she said no. Nothing. The other night on the floor she was told to just do it no spot. should I say something to the head coach? She is normally there but happened to not be...

    WAG Is this unsafe coaching?

your second paragraph could be entirely true. she said something about doing something into the pit one night awhile back. I didn't think much of it. she didnt say anything then about layouts. I will ask her again. I am just glad to hear I wasnt being overly dramatic thinking it was potentially...

    WAG Is this unsafe coaching?

She has never done one at all. Not on tumble track, floor, trampoline. Nothing. she has a lot of height on her set and when she tucks, but it just seemed odd to me to just have her go for one on the floor with no spot. And no progressions prior.
