no one has mentioned repetitive glide swings. I always have a side drill set up for my girls to do multiple glide swings and usually I stretch a bungee rope across the hb opening for them to practice stretching their glides out with. Also, placing a panel mat or some other low mat under the bar a bit and practicing lifting to a front support without bending your arms. Make sure you have the mat your standing on almost on the underside of the bar. This mimics the body to the bar and leaning over your body needs to do to complete the kips. We also use a kip swing as a side drill. Keep working and I hope your coach spots them a lot! Hope this helps! You will get it!
yippeeee! I got my kip for the first time! Sort of! I did it once at school gymnastics (on Wed), and then i did it twice during training (on Thursday)! They were really bad but I got up all the way all by myself! but we're done training until January (Christmas Holidays)...so i can't practice again for a while!
