WAG At home excersises for rope?

I am training to become a high level gymnast, and while I don't lack a whole lot in skills, I lack strength. I am the only one in my group that can't do 2 rope climbs in a row (without feet, we can use legs). I can do one, but my arms are too exhausted for the second one. I was wondering if anyone knew of any at home excersises to do to that will help improve my rope climbing.

More pullups. Or do pullups while holding on to some hand towels for grip strength. Or go to the hardware store, buy some rope ( at least 1 inch thick, if not 1.25 or 1.5") and hold that rope while doing pullups on a home pullup bar or something.
 
washing dishes and cleaning your room? sorry, i just couldn't resist...:)
 
Dunno, I may be willing to pay big money if someone could convince my dd that cleaning her room would help her with her gymnastics:)
