I think it would be great but depending on your age and weight it may not be suitable for many things. Unless they are fixed they can be very unstable meaning not much can be done on them.
 
It depends on how tall you are, I'm 5'5" so the bar has to be at least 5 feet tall which most home ones have a top height of. If you have outdoor space, Z-athletic has a nice outdoor one that's taller than most so a good option for taller gymnasts! Also I would not recommend practicing skills that may be to much for the bar!
 
No. No. No. After about 9-10 y/os you are simply too heavy. Assuming your 14 or older, it should not be used for bar work. Anything above l3 is dangerous.
