So I was on YouTube looking for vault drills and came across this video...

Correct me if I'm wrong but this the club grade 6 vault!?
Looking at the deductions for "flight phase from block" it says deduct for "insufficient height", "insufficient length". Strikes me as quite hard to achieve much height and flight from a step into handstand like in the video...? I was wondering whether it would be possible/advisable for gymnasts to do a little hurdle step into the flatback in order to get more repulsion?

I don't think so unfortunately- this is how the deductions are broken down in the handbook.

VAULT – CLUB GRADE 6
Run and hurdle step with 2 footed take off from springboard to land on 2 feet on 60cm foam block – handspring flatback from block to land on level safety mats. No deduction
for stepping backwards to end of block in preparation for handspring flatback (hands on block – land on back on safety mats).
