A friend of mine might have to go from competitive gymnastics back to rec classes. Has anyone else experienced this or know someone who has? What was it like going from several hours a week to an hour or so once a week?

Sort of, my sister went from competetive to tumbling. She was moving up to 12 hours for summer and she wanted to do other sports so she quit. Now she does 1 hour of tumbling each week. And karate. She says neither of them are long enough.

A teammate of my daughter went from Prep Op to advanced tumbling. It was very sad. Her form was so much better than all of the cheerleaders in the class and the pace of tumbling was slow compared to what she was used to with competitive. She quit after two terms.

My youngest went from comp at 13 hours to a rec 3 hour a week program. She was very happy as she just worked the skills she wanted too. She stuck with it for a year and then moved to cheer.
