My DD has been trying to hold her handstand for longer without support or "walking" on her hands. She can hold against a wall (stomach facing wall) for at least 1 minute and she can walk on her hands in good position for a full length of the floor. They do both of these in practice regularly. But she can't hold a free standing handstand for more than a couple of seconds without falling. Is it just practice, trial and error, or are there other drills for a better way to try rebalance herself? She will try occasionally at home, so was just wondering if there are tips/videos she could look at when she gets bored that might help her.

It's about rebalancing yourself with the tips of your fingers. As usual she will figure it out eventually. :)

And with good form of course. It's easier to hold a slightly arched handstand but it will get you nowhere. A clean, strong handstand will help your dughter on every event.
But be aware, as we all know too much of any good can be bad. (Talking wrist overuse etc.)

Kind of like a baby learning to stand. They just have to fall and fall and fall, until they don't. No great shortcuts.
