One of my athletes stags her leg going into her split leap. She hits 180 and it's a gorgeous leap other than the stag, which is still pretty. Since we moved to Xcel, I haven't been haring on her about the stag because I thought it would be allowed, but at our judge's critique one of the judges said it wasn't in the XCEL code and might possible not count as a leap? I'm trying to figure out it if is a deduction or not?

Is this on Beam or Floor? Stag leap is for sure allowed on Beam, so I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed on floor.
It even states in the notes about the Xcel Code:
D. Please realize that every variation of a skill cannot be written or depicted in these documents.

And you say she hits 180... does that mean that she kicks out of the stag into the full split?

The judge at the critique sounds unsure... you might want to check with your Regional Xcel Rep via e-mail (include a video of the leap in question)... if she (or he in Region 6) is not positive, it can be brought up at the next meeting as a clarification.
