Summer Camps Abroad/America

Just wondering if anyone has experience of their clubs going abroad for summer camps. Is it worth it? the whole expense of it, especially if parents are asked to take their gymnast to the camp!

I've never gone to a long summer camp with my whole gym, but I have alone. If they are optional lvl gymnasts, then yes its worth it. And the parents would pay for the camp for their own kids.

We looked at taking DD to IGC before (on her own, not with club), and we worked out that the cost of the camp, flights, somewhere for me to stay while she was etc etc, we could pay for an entire week if privates for her instead (same amount of training hours she'd have at camp) and still have money left over.

Instead we sent her to Rushmoor, which she utterly loved and learnt lots at.

If we suddenly come into some money though, I'd definitely look into an overseas camp, but more for the experience than the training

we have been looking at Rushmore for Pink but I know she wouldn't be happy on her own and haven't yet managed to persuade a friends parent to send a child.

We do rushmoor every year sometimes twice my kid
Seems to love it
