| Finally got her kip about a month ago at the gym, but hasn't been able to do them on her bar at home. Can't video at the gym and her dad works out of town, she really, really wanted to make one on her bar to show her dad. :) She will be 7 in July. |

Thanks gymdog! Her coach is really big on extending the glide. She couldn't even attempt the kip until she had a better glide and her coach would "threaten" to take away her kip privileges when she did bad glides, LOL.. Her bar coach is awesome. She still doesn't have it with straight arms, but she won't be needing it until next Fall and so she has lots of time. She does it better at gym because her bar at home is rarely used so it is not broken in and she says it is hard to do kips on it. |

| She's doing a really good job extending out on the glide! I was impressed because that's usually a common problem at this stage. Once she figures out the pull back and wrist shift action a little faster, it should look pretty nice. |

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that! It is actually anchored into the ground with metal stakes, but it still moves a bit. Luckily, she doesn't practice much at all on it and usually the bar is in the storage room and the base just sits there. I don't encourage practice, but I don't tell her "no". I was against her having a bar at home, but hubby won out over me since he was going to make one. |

| you need to put cement sacks over the base. |
