ChalkBucket has become what it is today because of all of the great staff and members on the site...all of you. The knowledge and experience that can be found here is great.

Thank you to all of you!

With that being said...ChalkBucket is in the beginning stages of transferring from our current forum software (vBulletin 4.2.1) to a newer software called Xenforo 1.2. More info on Xenforo can be found at http://www.xenforo.com...check out the forum there.

Please respond with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Things that concern the members that are being looked into...

  • ChalkBucket mobile app support for both iOS and Android (solved)
    • We will have the exact same mobile apps.
  • Member Created Social Groups on the new software (investigating)
  • Transferring "likes" to the the new software? (investigating)

Got the "likes" worked out.

The social groups are a bit of an issue right now. We have to wait for the 3rd party add-on for Xenforo to be upgraded until we can transfer the social groups to the new software.

OK...we are moved over to the new software. The social groups are not yet activated...I'll work on those tomorrow.

Please reply to this thread with any issues that you are having.

This is sort of a silly concern in the grand scheme of things, but will usernames be different colors based on their group? (red gymnasts, yellow parents, etc.) It made figuring out who somebody was a whole lot easier.

On the apple mobile app, I am no longer being taken to the new posts on a topic when I am reading posts via the latest tab. It could be that I need to reset a setting. Just let me know.

I can't seem to post any new threads...

I have performed a permissions check on your account and you should be able to create threads. Please look in the upper right and lower right in each forum for a "create new thread" button.

Yes...I just have to figure out how to do it.

Try going to "more" >> "settings" and looking around in there.

I am also having issues with the mobile app. The mobile app currently requires an update...due to the fact that I have to borrow a Mac from someone to perform the update to the Apple app...I will not have the update done until sometime next week.

I still get this 'internal server error':

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I already tried different pc's on different networks.
I do can reply on a thread...

Thanks for helping out!

Interesting...I'll look into it.

Is there a way to more clearly delineate posts? I checked preferences but it didn't seem to contain different layouts. I find this layout fairly annoying, also I think if people don't have an avatar, it should not show a question mark, it should just be blank. Names should be on top of avatars and bigger. It is hard to tell at a glance who is posting what.

All of that is just cosmetic...functionality issues are being addressed first. Much of that will be addressed as time goes on.

The actual layout of this software is almost identical to the old software as it was created by the same software developers.

It will take me a while to figure out how to make the usernames easier to see...but it is possible...I see what you mean.

@Nico

Are you getting this message after you type the message and click "create thread"? If so...try again and just type something like "Hello my name is Nico." If it works...let me know and I will delete the thread.

Very strange, the 'test' I typed did work.
But when I want to upload the text that I copy/paste (I didn't want to type it again after 5 previous tries), I doesn't work and I still get the error.

You are tripping our mod_security (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ModSecurity). ModSecurity looks has a crazy list of rules and it blocks certain content. Try submitting parts of your content at a time and you will find out what section it does not like...then just reword that part.

Sorry about the issue...it happens to me sometimes also. I have considered disabling it...but it has actually stopped us from getting hacked before.

Do the copy paste thing with chunks of text often causes issues. Dunno and I went round in circles trying to upload a large hunk of text. I had to break it into ten pieces and reformat each chunk. It took hours. But the ModSecurity is a good thing so I just live with it.

Did it not take any of the ten pieces? Did it ever say "internal server error"?
