WAG Overzealous Middle School PE Teacher

You might look carefully into a 504. A 504 allows the parent to collaborate with the school to meet a child's needs that are not currently being met. Accommodations are set and monitored. Many schools will not necessarily want this because it requires a lot of documentation and staff time...

WAG How many years- what level

Don't hold me to this , but it is my best guess as I suddenly feel quite old doing this. Age 2-Mom and Me, once a week Age 3-little Hot Shots, twice a week, 3 hours total Age 6- competed old L3- three times weekly- 6 hours Age 7- competed old L4- three times weekly - 8 hours Age 8- older Hot...

WAG bars without grips in higher levels

My DD did not wear grips until second year of L8. She has very small hands and was tiny for her age. She also changed gyms and coaches, so she just kept going without them. She did learn to use tape grips, though, and could make them quickly. A few scary falls and coaches were telling her to...

    WAG elbow pain

I'm sorry you are going through this injury. I also hope she continues to have no pain with it. A little off topic maybe, but what is a tuck over a barrel? I've never heard of that?

WAG What happened to the thread I posted?

Well, I'm convinced! To infinity and beyond! Now, I can't remember, who is Dunno? Morgan Freeman?

WAG Is my kid over gymnastics?

I know you asked questions of coaches, but you also made some comments that resonate with parents. Out of DD's original 8 girl team of 6 yo girls, 2 are left. For many, it just is not the best choice or one of the best choices for them. At 5, she is able to express joy for the activities she...

WAG Continuing... top 10 @ state to move up

I had the same thought. How many in each age division? It should not matter, though, because this is an odd way to determine a team. Maybe HC wants the girls to be motivated to do well at state, but it is an strange approach at best and rather destructive at worst. What if a child is injured...

    WAG Encouragement!

She is doing great! What a nice vault and double off bars!

    WAG Question about Severs

We tried it and DD broke out in hives. We did start some of the vitamin ingredients daily, and it has helped her through Severs and Osgood. I'm not really into the extra vitamins as a cure, but it has really helped.

WAG How do you qualify for Level 7 regionals?

Bog, I'm not sure if it is a God question or not, but I know Region 3 has one.

WAG Frustration - sorry this is long and really just me venting

We have had to move our DD due to a similar situation. Just get her out of there and find a coach who will treat her the way she deserves to be treated. And one thing to add, Dunno: Give me tons of $ to be this way to your kid!

WAG Tough Coaches at level 3

First of all, welcome to CB. It is so hard to navigate the waters through the sea of coaches, gyms, skills, levels, and requirements. The folks on CB are an excellent resource with years of experience and tons of wisdom! Your coaches have certainly proven what they can help your DD do if she...

    meal before meets?

Steak, steak, and, well, steak! She can put it down! She can eat more than my husband only when it is steak. All 74 lbs. of her. Did I mention steak?

    WAG Finally got the giant

That is a huge skill to get during competition! Floor looked quite nice! Best wishes for a wonderful L 7 season!

    Parents Hi!

Welcome to chalk bucket, clubdancemom. My daughter was in dance through level 5 then had to make her choice. She chose gymnastics. I discovered this site when she was choosing, hence, the name. I miss the dancing as well, but I feel fortunate that my younger DD does cultural dance, which is...
