I'm sorry if this was taken wrong but the reality of the situation is our group of girls were specially chosen during testing and they are separated from the rest of the L4 team. Our girls don't train at the same time as the rest of the L4 team and that is what I meant by "separated" from the...
My dd is competing in her first L4 meet the beginning of January. She is in a specially chosen group of girls that the coaches feel will do especially well in optionals, so their focus is more on conditioning and less on compulsories. Needless to say, this group does not tend to do great in L4...
Thanks everyone! Our gym does do a "mock meet" before the season actually begins, so we will get that feedback. I had a feeling the judges didn't give feedback, especially at the bigger meets. Thanks again!
This is purely a curiosity question....but, do judges give feedback on their scores or do they simply give a score? For instance, do the coaches get anything afterward that says "why" a judge scored a certain way or that might say "need work on leaps" or "great leaps", etc? DD's first L4 meet...
Thanks for the replies! I will talk to the coach tomorrow morning and see what she thinks. She has had a couple days off, so maybe they will be closed by tomorrow morning. But, infection was my worry as well. Thanks again...we'll see how it goes!
Forgot to add....the areas on her hips are open wounds that require band-aids after each rotation on the bars, so my concern about chalk put directly on the wound is infection. However, if that is the best way to eliminate the chafing, we might have to do it.
My dd is a Level 4 and working hard on her bar routine. She still tends to "muscle" some skills and it is causing some rubbing/chafing areas on her hips where the bar sits. Her gym does not allow bar shorts. Would it help if she put chalk right on her hips or does that actually make it worse...
I second that. My dd goes to the same gym as Jordyn and she is doing just fine. She's a great gymnast with a great future and just like any gymnast, has to stay healthy, but she's certainly not at any increased risk of injury or burnout.
She did. We were able to reach the coach and she put us in contact with someone that makes them for camps. She wore it this morning (although it didn't seem to matter, as U of M is getting beat! haha).
Haha....oh yes, there will be plenty of green and white. She attends a gym near MSU, so she will be the minority for sure. That's why I think it would be so much fun to have a Michigan leo in the sea of green. I've been searching for several weeks without any success, so I'm not holding out...
Okay, I'm desperately seeking a University of Michigan leo for my dd. I've done every search known to man on the internet and can not find one. If anyone know where I might be able to find one, please let me know as soon as possible. Need it by this weekend for my dd to wear to practice in...
Yup! haha I'm a nurse and at Camp Woodward I could have had my dd attend for free if I volunteered for a week as the camp nurse. Other parent positions will allow you to get 50% off tuition. FlipFest is purely volunteer...no monetary assistance for volunteer, but you can volunteer and be there...
Another thing to consider is that some camps (Camp Woodward and FlipFest for sure, maybe others) have some sort of program where parents of young children can attend camp at the same time and do a job. That way, the child gets to experience camp but the parents are close in the event that they...
My dd gets a home conditioning program from her gym. She goes to the gym 3 days a week and has 3 days of home conditioning. If she actually did it without playing around and talking so much, she could have it done in probably about 10 minutes. It includes every day splits and flexibility and...
Why would they need privacy? Maybe I'm just confused by the question, but we have 3 elites, one at the caliber of Rebecca Bross and she just blends in during practices. Obviously, anyone there knows who she is, but she just practices like all the other girls. Now, with that said, she does...
