Being a parent of a recently injured DD, we are currently going through the same thing. Our DD broke her second toe and is on her third week of recovery and lots of conditioning/bars. Today was her first day that she was able to do some floor beam work since the toe seems to be "fusing"...
I found a site called gymnastjudge.com but other than what's written on their site I don't know much about it. I've searched google and haven't found any anectodal experiences so I was curious if they were a legitimate business.
Hello All,
As the competition season nears, we found a site that offers evaluations on videotaped routines so we were wondering whether or not anybody has any experience utilizing such a service? Our current gym does not have mock meets so we were curious about having some of our daughter's...
Our DD just broke her toe and will need to stay off her feet as much as possible during the recovery period to help it heal in time for the upcoming meet season. Unfortunately, she is not going to be able to go to Tops A camp.
Just out of curiousity, is it still possible to get the warm...
We just found out our DD made A camp along with her teammates. The hard part is our coach asked us to keep it quiet (which is really killing my wife and I) since she wanted to make the announcement during Monday's practice. WOOOHOOOO! :-)
Our daughter is in 6B and the prepaid phone we bought her worked only when the phone was brought outside of the cabin onto the porch area. She didn't get any signals when inside her cabin.
On a different note, does anybody know if the girls in B camp get a leo and warm up as well?
The problem with gyms universally training TOPs is that most little girls like the skills acquisition aspect of the sport and not the conditioning. The sad part is go to any gym in America and you will see MANY team parents complain that the girls do too much conditioning to begin with and with...
Regarding B camp, there is no testing involved whereas the A campers are tested on the abilities portion when they arrive. Gary made no mention of testing the B campers other than he felt the staff needed a rest after A camp's session therefore he wasn't going to test the B campers.
Not sure...
As harsh as PureTalent is being portrayed, I don't think she's that far off based on our attendance at the Tops meeting (Saturday morning). First off our daughter made B camp (long story but you can probably find a thread here on Chalk Bucket about our Tops coach leaving...thanks to YouTube our...
Hello All,
We just found out that our daughter just made B camp and we are debating on whether or not to send her. What my wife and I are really concerned about is what is the camp all about for B-campers? Specifically:
1. Are the coaches the same as the ones in A camp? The reason I ask is...
Our DD's coach is leaving this week so we are left in a bind. Our daughter qualified for Tops National Testing and this coach has been very instrumental in helping our daughter qualify. FYI, we switched gyms early July to "pursue" the Tops path based on DD's previous coaches...
Our DD made it and it couldn't have come at a better time. Our little DD has been really hard on herself after the last test and thought that she wouldn't make it to national testing so this info is really great news!
Hopefully there's a lot of good news for others as well!!!
Hello,
Our little DD is 8 years old and training level 6. She started almost two years ago and has had to play catchup with her teammates almost everyday of her gymnastics "career." :-) We are located in Wisconsin but just switched to a gym in Illinois so this will be our first time competing...
Hello,
I think our daughter is on track to competing Level 5 but we won't know until after our gym's expo. We switched gyms in Dec. so we are still learning how things are run at our new gym. So far it's been extremely enjoyable for our DD so all we can do is hope for the best :)
