Thanks everyone, where I coach the best vaults we are allowed to do are full twist off, yami's, yuchenko's, so I appreciate everyone trying to help with drills even if you don't like them. Cheers
Just wondering if anyone has any drills for the Yama****a Vault. It a new vault in our syllabus. I know some basic, basic drills ie. v snaps on floor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:)
We do alot of box kips from two legs pushing block further way, and then onto 1 leg box kip, keeping "free" leg again the bar and push up and out to the "finish". I had a girl 2 years not getting the kip, after a couple of dozen of these got her glide kip.
Thank you. We all got on really well until a couple of weeks ago! I will be sitting them down for a talk and letting them know this behaviour is unacceptable, and your right we do teach much more than Gymnastics! I was going to pair them up with other kids that don't know them. But maybe I will...
Hi, I coach primarily at a low income/youth at risk Gymnastic Club and am having major issues with "*****y" behaviour with my Upper Level girls team. They seem to be ignoring or fighting with each other inside and outside the gym ie. facebook/skype. I have talked to parents of the girls, but now...
When I spot my gymnasts kips in warm ups I get them to "rollover the bar" to help with hand movement. Also I have gone back to the "hock up" so they can do them by themselves without assistance. I find it's the last phase "hand roll" that is the problem
Thanks Nicki, I may have to get it checked out, the only reason her shoulder flex is good, is because we have done a lot of work on them. Thinking that is what is was. It's just like she doesn't bend in her back at all. When I spot her that's what it feels like.
no she says the pain is half way between her shoulder blades and the middle of the back, I don't know what her body type is, but she is quite small and lean, have just looked it up and I would say she was an ecto.
Hi, I have a 9 yo gymnast who has struggled for a long time with her back flexibility. We have been doing a lot of excercises to help with this problem. Shoulder flex is good now, and hip flex is as well. But she complains and cry's when doing bridges and walkovers (which is getting there, after...
We soak a teabag in boiling water and then once cool enough we place it straight on the rip itself. The anti-ocidants help with healing and pain. I put it on straight away, for about 20minutes. That's the only thing we use. Just cover it only when you are on bars again, until you heal.
Just wondering if anybody has any ideas or drills that help me with the following problem. One of my gg's seems to be twisting in the middle of her backhandspring! her roundoff is straight, going into the flip is straight, and then twisting hips in the air which brings her down crooked. I have...
