here's the funny thing... haven't heard a thing from head coaches, but any orthopedic dr. I know has told us to stay away from tramp parks. Unless I am trying to keep them in business. Haven't told us to stop doing gymnastics, but don't go to tramp parks. I found that interesting.

my experience is that it takes about 6 months for a kid to "have" a skill and be ready to "compete" the skill. In that 6 months, form is tweaked, consistency is developed, and the connections between the prior skill and the next skill are strengthened. imho, if you barely "have" the skills...

I agree with this. I'm seeing it from my kid - who hasn't changed gyms. 1) In summer, they have more time with the kids and our gym does more conditioning in summer. 2) Higher levels are expected to be more difficult - our coaches had the talk with the girls that they expect them to work...
