I'll admit, I've always been jealous of people who started when they were younger, just because it all seems so much easier to get into when your little. But hey, better late than never, right? I might not qualify for the Olympics, but it's all good fun and keeps me in shape (sort of lol)...
Hey all! I've just been wondering how everyone here got started in gymnastics? Did your parents enrol you as a young child or did you decide to start yourself, that kind of thing. Personally I was inspired to start myself about a year ago after watching the Olympics on YouTube. :)
I'm about 5'5 and I'm by far the tallest in my level. I do feel a bit awkward sometimes but it does have it's advantages, like it makes bars a lot easier since I can reach the bar easier than everyone else ;)

Thank you for your advice everyone! Xx :D
There's actually another thing I need to ask... (Cheeky I know) But does anyone have any tips for doing a handstand forward roll (with bent arms)? I can do a handstand and a forward roll, but when I try to combine the two, I get scared and either roll...
Thanks! And yes I have to do those too. I've already passed 5 of them. :) and hopefully the counting method will work. Will let you know how I get on :) :)

For your first goal, if you don't want something as easy as a ROBHBT, then maybe try a ROBHBL, or a running front layout. If you still think this is too easy, maybe try a ROBHBL with a half/full twist? Or a aerial round-off (not sure what it's called) hope this helped xx PS: you must be AMAZING...
I usually like floor but sometimes I like bars or beam the best. It really depends on my mood. Vault's never my favourite though cos I find it very difficult.
For my badge that I'm currently working on, (badge 1 in BAGA) I have to be able to hold a piked half lever or a straddled lever for 3 seconds. I find the pike lever easier but can't hold it for longer than about a second. Are there any conditioning exercises I can do to help? Or do I just have...
