    WAG Level 10 vault question

The judges know the rule and awarded the bonus.

    Parents BWO beam deduction

Well she could technically receive more than 1.1 when you factor in her execution deductions, if any.

    Parents BWO beam deduction

In optionals she will only need to get one foot on for the skill to count and then it is a .5 deduction for the fall. In level 5 if she fell without getting a foot on I would take up to the value of the element for an incomplete element depending on what she did before she fell...in this case...

Parents Gym owner also a judge at meet

Depending on the score the judges must be within a certain range of each other. For average scores 9.5 and higher the judges have to be within .2 of each other. For scores 9.0-9.475 the judges must be within .5. For scores 8-8.975 the judges must be within .7. For scores 7.975 and below the...

WAG Curse of the bent elbows

The bent elbows in your examples may largely be cured by more power and momentum. My DD has nice straight arms on her kip, fhs vault and bhs when she's able to generate a lot of momentum, however the elbows are a hot mess on all 3 if she doesn't get a nice big glide swing on her kip or a great...

    Parents Score too high?

I'm at a 9.65. Her presentation is beautiful. I took .05 on her turn for being overturned, .1 on her first pass and .2 on her second for a little bent knees and the landing.

WAG Feedback for DD's Lvl 6 Vault?

I didn't think her angle of repulsion was bad. Yes it's past vertical but not terribly so. My biggest deduction was on her height and the landing. Some body position and dynamics. I'm at a 9.3.

    WAG Level 3 Beam Routine

It has to hit vertical in Level 3, no hold required. It's up to .3 for not hitting vertical, depending how far she was, and another tenth for not closing her feet together. Up to .1 each for not kicking to horizontal.

    WAG Probably A Ridiculous Question....

Yikes I hope that mom misunderstood! After level 3 the run is not technically judged but judges definitely observe the run and if it's not fast and accelerating the gymnast will incur a dynamics deduction. Also, the first flight (from board contact to table contact) IS judged so I couldn't...

WAG Deductions for DD Floor Routine

I felt like her leap was close to 180 but she doesn't point her back toe which makes it look significantly lower in real time. Pointing that toe will definitely up her score. I thought she could work on toe more throughout and clean up the dance on the floor before her robhsbt...some bent legs...

    WAG Which deduction is greater?

Connect the kip to the cast even if it's not horizontal. Not connecting is a flat .3 plus you still have to add in whatever cast deductions she may get for amplitude, body position, arms and legs. And then there will definitely be a rhythm deduction.

WAG Questions about Level 5 bar and beam.

Yes it's the same in level 4. It's much better to do a wimpy cast immediately connected to her kip than to stop and then cast. It's a mandatory .3 each time she stops after her kip. It's only up to .3 for not reaching horizontal on the cast. (Above horizontal in level 5)
