WAG Coaches - good majors for wanting to be a coach

I don't know much but I feel like sports psychology could be helpful in gymnastics! One of my coaches is studying physical education, but my head coach has a degree in teaching math!

    WAG Pre wrap

Well, I don't use pre wrap, and don't know of anyone who does when they're on bars. I sometimes use prewrap under my athletic tape when I rip. It's totally normal to get rips when wearing grips. I'll show people my rips and they'll say "don't you wear gloves so that doesn't happen?!". Well...

    Equal time for all events

I do Xcel (I am gold right now, though sometimes I train with the platinums). Our practices are split up into Diamond, Platinum and 2 groups of gold. Mondays/Thursdays we condition and stretch for about an hour. They try to have us go to each even for 30 minutes after that. Floor usually backs...

WAG Am I unhealthily obsessed with gymnastics?

Yes yes yes! I totally am the same way. I'm 16 and started at 14 and I can't get enough. It's always on my mind and has been since I started. I actually wrote in one of my essays that is one of the most healthy unhealthy obsessions! It's awesome to have such a fiery passion, and like someone...

Our first meet is November 1st, then we have one 2 weeks after, and then after that its one per month (December-February). March has 2, one regular meet and then States.

    WAG Leotards compulsory vs optionals

My gym has tank leos for compulsories and long sleeve for optionals and Xcel. It might even be tank for L3 & 4 and then 5+ have long sleeves. I think typically long sleeves cost more. Since the lower levels are still growing, they may have to buy a new leo two years in a row. I wouldn't want...

WAG What kind of gym bag do you have?

I have an adidas drawstring bag that was given to gymnasts competing at States in 2013. So it's almost 2 years old and is in pretty good shape. Though the gems are starting to fall off. I hope to never have to use another bag!

WAG Warm Ups for keeping warm?

I will sometimes put my jacket on between events. I love my jacket. Leggings are more so a hassle but if I have a long time or it's my last event I will throw them on.

WAG Starting Dance to help Gymnastics?

If it doesn't interfere with gymnastics, yes!! I do dance and gymnastics and I get complimented on all of my dance elements. Being able to focus on just dance outside of the gym is a big advantage in my opinion. I would recommend taking ballet. It can be boring, but very hard. I think it has...

Which apparatus do you prefer to start competing on?

So I didn't read the whole post and thought it was my favorite event to compete (whoops I should probably go to bed). I voted floor, but for some reason I like bars the best to start on. It's probably the easiest for me (well last season it was), so if I do well on it, it sets a good tone for...
