Thanks all for answering. I thought the only way was to get a degree in human science and then go apply.. I have been in gymnastics for a while now and am increasing my skill level. I am going to take another class once I can afford it. I think I will look into the cert programs and ask my coach...
Would doing just that certificate program and being a mentee mean anything? I mean would I be hireable with just a certificate from that program and being mentored?
Hi all,
I was wondering how can I become a coach? Do I need to have a college degree in a certain area? Are there any Vocational schools I can go to, or certificate programs out there? How would you recommend I become a coach?
Thanks!!
I have figured out my problem: on both the back and front tuck I am not letting go of my legs before I land. So inevitable I fall on my face of something to that effect. Should I have the coach tell me when to let go or what?
I think I am going to try to do competitive gymnastics here in a month or two, what should I watch out for? I'm 18 so I don't know how long I will be able to compete or how far I will get.. Any advice is welcome :)
That's kind of a bummer haha. But that's cool for the little ones :)
Do you know of any programs for beginners or something with the same idea as TOPS?
I'm doing because it takes strength, determination, trust and I have to work hard at it. Plus, the first time I ever stepped foot in a gym I knew that's a place I wanted to be.
As far as I know I am practicing everything right.. Just cartwheels and round offs for now.. I'm focusing a lot on...
Thank you! The coach I usually practice with has been doing that the last few weeks, but this new coach just kind of threw me to the sharks so to speak :). Thanks again!
I practice against a wall everyday but I have an arch in my back.. How do I fix that? It's not exactly a banana back but I think it's a significant arch.
Hi all,
I am a beginner gymnast, I have been dong gymnastics for a month and a week. I practice skills every other day on my own and I work out every day to keep in shape. I have wanted to do gymnastics since I was a little kid but never had the means to. Now I pay for it myself and am...
I have been practicing a round-off back handspring with a spotter on the tumbling floor and track for the last month. And each week I am improving, and I am pretty sure that I can do it by myself now. The substitute coach that was with us last week thinks I should try it by myself, but I am a...
Hi!
I did my very first back tuck yesterday on the 2nd and I didn't land it.. I think it's because I didn't let go of my legs quick enough. So when should I let go of my legs to land? Should I count to three or something while I am in the air? Any advice is completely appreciated! Thanks!
