Do you think judges who work at a gym can be fair when judging girls from other gyms along with the ones from the gym where they work? Just curious what others might think about this.
I wish I could do hairstyles like this also! I don't know if I have patience for it :-) Also, my daughter's hair is baby fine and has lots of fly-aways, so it makes it very difficult to work with. We usually gel it back and put it in a ponytail.
gym law mom,
Yes, she definitely is bringing major positives and is extremely enthusiastic! I really do like her, so I'm not sure how to approach her about it. I don't want her to stop challanging my dd, but on the other hand, she does need to be spotted when trying those new (and many times...
to do an ariel (sp?) today. She nearly did it, but I was a nervous wreck when her coach asked her if she wanted to try it. Of course, she has no fear, so she said yes. She tried it twice, the first time better than the 2nd (the coach didn't spot her). Then she had one of the other level 3...
We just got back from camp at Elite Gymnastics in Baton Rouge. My daughter had a great time and learned a few things too. I was a room mom, so I was with her for the entire week. She's only 6 1/2 years old, so she didn't want to stay without me (and I didn't want to leave her either!). The...
I like to watch my dd on beam & bars best. I guess because these 2 are her best events. Floor is inconsistent with her, as is vault. I'm hoping she will improve in these 2 areas.
Today was my dd's first day at practice with her new coach. We're still in the same gym, but the coach we had retired (I was told it was due to a bad back--she never said anything to us:(, which I didn't understand because my daughter adores her). Anyway, the new coach is young, energetic and...
Here's my little one's stats:
At 6 years and 3 months:
your child is 41 pounds, and that is
at the 20th percentile for weight. your child is 42 inches, and that is
at less than the 3rd percentile for height.
The height predictor said she would be 4'11.
I don't know how accurate it is...
My little girl is the youngest of 5 and she's the only girl. I'm sure one day she will be able to relate to what you have said in your post! She's 6 and the oldest big brother is 17. Believe it or not, the 17 year old is the one that aggravates her the most----he loves to grab her and smother...
I am thinking about home schooling my daughter for the next school year (she will be in 1st grade), and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for someone just starting. This is not because of gymnastics---just wanted to make sure no one would think this. I am not satisfied with the...
Congratulations to your DD! My DD just finished level 2 and is now beginning to learn this skill, so I'm a little concerned! She told me yesterday that the mill circle scares her (and she is never afraid!). I may take over your whining position :)
Oh no! That was so mean! That would have made my little girl upset too. I think she's glad to be moving on to other (more challenging) skills. She was really getting bored with level 2.
Good luck to your dd too! We began practicing back handsprings a few weeks ago. She absolutely loves...
