    Parents Advice:commitment letters

True friends would be honest from the start. Feelings are more hurt by deceit. Sure the friend will be sad, but she will also be proud of her friend.

    Parents Modified school schedules?

I also teach for this school. Our outcomes have been very good. Our online high school kids outperformed the district kids on our state testing. We do have certificated teachers teaching our students. We have transitioned over the years from a self paced to a teacher driven model and it has had...

    Parents Modified school schedules?

We do 6th grade online public school. Washington state has this option. Our daughter attends classes via computer with a math, science, and language arts teacher. She completes her day at 1:30 and heads to gym. It works for us, even on the challenging days. I am thankful for this option. When...

    Parents All is Not Bunderful

Hair wars!!! True here, too. We put on girl power music and sing loud while doing hair. Before we know it, the hair is done! Never enough sparkles, but done none-the-less!

    Parents Kicked out of Gym!

I know my kiddo has a love hate relationship with me being at practice. My hubby has retired so he does the drop off most of the time. Once a month or so I go and watch a bit. My nerves are better and so are hers. My kiddo is on her journey. Sure we pay, drive, and cheer... But it is her journey.

Parents Is parental jealousy for real?

Hubby and I always sit away from parents. I consider most of them really great friends, but we both love watching our girl and tend to not breath when she competes. We are able to focus on her. We cheer for every other gymmie and enjoy watching them all. At awards all parents gather and enjoy...

Parents What type of gym parent are you?

Retired Hubby drives carpool and drops off. Carpool brings home. Maybe 2-3 times a month I step foot in the gym. Usually when my gymmie says, "Mom, I have a new skill to show you!!" We do watch and record gymnasts events, but I still call most skills flippy things... Gym stress minimal for me...

Parents why do some parents record all kids' scores?

I always keep track, but DD doesn't ever want me to tell her where she is. I only keep track of her team. I love seeing all their progress from meet to meet. Many parents refer to my meet tracker to keep up with their kids as well.

WAG Will I ever understand deductions and scoring?

My kiddo had a 9.0 vault last week and an 8.425 vault this week. Judges are different every week! She placed 9th last week 6th this week. Look at the overall scoring for the whole meet.
