I have been doing work with the stride circle, and working on the cut isn't too difficult but the actual circle takes a while to understand, especially because it is so different to what we have done previously. Isn't the baby giant the current level fours swing pullover?
It's a hard call, especially as if they do train up they will get large deductions for not competing core skills but if they go down it is really hard on them as well. Overall not fun.
Damn, I thinks it's really harsh, it is going to be a challenge for all of us coaches to intergrate the new program with our current gymnasts and training styles. Oh well it's going to be an adventure.
There would be four or five girls that could, but the rest are my train on squad, and have the skills to compete but their technique needs a lot of work, they are not in the right mindset, maturity or technical basis to do well.
Nooooooooooooooooo, I am heartbroken! Now comps are going to feel like they go so much longer with the same floor music playing over and over. I was so thankful when my squad moved into level four so I didn't have to listen to it anymore, but now it's following me!
That's what I'm thinking, but because of the higher technical demand I don't want to up the level and have them struggle, i don't know I'll figure it out. But I do have a question, does anyone know if there will be prescribed music, because I just did the choreo for their new routines and I was...
These are screenshots of the proposed new routines, the owner of my gym was sent this and she gave the routines to me, they are much easier than the current routines. The technical requirements must have to be greater to compensate for the easier skills I suppose, but it's really hard to regroup...
I let my gymnasts combine their skills pretty much a week after so they have time to get used to them. However it all depends on your technique, your coach will tell you when your ready, don't worry :)
They all do have their bonuses covered in their leaps and handstands however my girls are the pre-squad for level 5 and the gym owner says she wants their bonus to be their mount and dismount and to have the others just as a back up. I think it's silly, but it's what the boss wants ;)
When my gymnasts don't straighten their back knee I get them to do two drills, hold the wall bars(rack) and get them to do tight backwards kicks keeping their hips square. And the second is holding a small arabesque over a box with tight knees and bounces of the leg as well. This really helped...
I am an AUS coach so I don't know what the terms are in the US for this skill, but we call it a tuck through to pike hold or a squat through to pike. It is a mount on beam that my gymnasts are competing this year. Many of the girls are having trouble not touching the beam with their feet on the...
