At our gym they will not take you if you are not ready. My daughter is also testing as an 8 yr old and was having trouble with her bars. Her coach didn't want her to go to the first testing unless she got her bars. She explained to me the same thing that was told to u. In my dd case knowing that...
If she is doing TOPS then there is no need for rec class. I don't know why the gym would even let her do both especially on the same day. what she is learning in Tops is way more advanced than what she would learn in a rec class. I know in my gym if your invited to join that means your good so...
This was my dd first time testing and I am happy it's over. Overall it was a great experience and she can't wait for next year when she gets to compete as an 8 yr old and test on skills.
For all those that tested I wish your little ones the best of luck!!
Now the fun starts on waiting if they...
That is just crazy!!
If you need the extra practice then go to open gym where you are supervised by a coach. My gym offers it free to all team girls and even if I have to pay $10 I think it's worth it.

I have paid about $54 for the past 2 years and her first year I believe it was $50. We have girls that have moved up levels and never heard them say they had to pay extra. Membership is for the full year and I don't understand by upgrade? What's the difference? Plus as the parent don't you have...
Just found this forum and I thought I should introduce myself here. I have 7 yr old who completed level 1 & 2 and now is only training in TOPS. She will be testing in her last test for the year this weekend. Hope to get more insight on other moms that has gone through the tops program.
I hope...
Hi!
Does anybody know what the cut-off score is for the 7 year olds last year? I know it changes every year but I'm curious to know. I tried doing a search but nothing came up at least not her age group. Thanks!
She has a lot of skills for being just a level 4. An aerial on a beam that's a hard skill! I'm not a coach but with those skills she should be in a higher level especially if she is scoring high. Either way she sounds like an amazing gymnast and would do great in tops. Good luck and I hope you...
Hi all!
I'm new in Chalkbucket. I have a daughter that just turned 7 and is testing this season in TOPS. Is there other parents here with dd that are testing this year? It seems like there isn't too many girls that test at 7. I've done one test and there was only 3 girls testing. How many girls...
