    WAG Splashdown on Beam

Yes, a B. Usually not very hard, but I like to teach it later, bc if you introduce it too early, the back handsprings seem to get a bad technique. But as she is doing it out of a tuck, I guess she has a decent BH already :) For judging wise, I have no idea, sorry! But I think it should be at...

WAG Back Handspring Stepout Lay step out on FLOOR

Back Handspring step out Layout step out on FLOOR: When do you teach it? How do you teach it? What are prerequisites? What levels should girls be doing this (training USAG)? Is it a hard skill to learn?

    Coaches Press Handstand Work Everyday?

I just joined this user group because I hope I can get some help here and I also think it is better to ask here than in the parents forum. Iwant to know if Press Handstands should be worked everyday and how? Would it be best to do a full press handstand workout everyday or split it up? I am...

WAG different countries - different training styles - good topic for master thesis?

@profmom As I said before, I haven't thought about in more in depth, I still have some time left, just wanted an opinion of you guys. There are many things I am interested in, but there is plenty of info of those things already. And I haven't found something like I want to do now! I would also...

WAG different countries - different training styles - good topic for master thesis?

Yes, I know. I love those a lot and watch them all the time, because I find this so interesting. That's why I thought about using this as a topic for my thesis!

WAG different countries - different training styles - good topic for master thesis?

What about doing a comparison of different training styles of gymnastics for a master thesis? I would cover 3-4 countries (USA, China, Romania and maybe a fourth) and compare different of gymnastics training, for example: - what age do children start - why do they start - how is training...

    WAG tuck to layout

How long does it usually take a gymnast with a nice RO BH BT to get to RO BH BL if they know how to do a Layout on trampoline? To me, it feels like once you know the shape of a layout it is easier to control than a tuck, but you need so much more power and really need to have a strong RO BH...

WAG Keeping arms straight in standing bhs! Help!

I would say it is just a timing issue. Try BH on trampoline, then move to air track or springboard, then on soft mats, then on floor. And only progress if form is good. Swing your arms fast, past your ears, land with shoulders OPEN! It is just a matter of practice, you can do it!

WAG treatment of apophysitis of ischial tuberosity

What pain does it cause? Years ago, while I was doing a split without warming up, I tore my tendon away from a bone in my booty. It made a snap and hurt really bad. I rested it, but it still built scar tissue and didn't heal very well. I should have rested it more and apply light massage after...

    WAG Flyaway. Technical question.

Do you teach a tuck flyaway first or layout? Some of my girls seem to not get the tuck! They do great on letting go of the bar and drop to their back, but are afraid to tuck, tuck far to early and hit the bar. It seems they would have an easier time just letting go and do a layout flyaway!

WAG Dips as conditioning for girls - yes or no?

How necessary do you think are dips for optional female gymnasts? I am a gymnast myself, but never got further than L8. I am still doing gymnastics, but now I coach a lot and LOVE it. I am an assistant coach at a pretty competitive gym. They really prepare the girls well and focus a lot on...
