Thank you, I've read and understand the changes to Level 8 as I have a couple of those. Haven't had a kid in Level 9/10 for quite some time however haha.
So I have not had to deal with this in a while as I have been re-building a program from compulsory. If I remember correctly, didn't optional levels have a difficulty requirement for Element Groups ( Level 8-A Level 9-B Level 10-C)? All I can find in the JO program is dismount requirement...
I'm not sure where he is coming from with the Kaz. If you look at higher level gymnasts, the general trend is front handspring and Kaz skills. I train all my boys on Kaz first as it has a high start value tucked and has less fear issues versus the yurchenko entry.
I usually explain to the entry level 4's parents at a mock meet. I explain the deductions for arms, legs, arch, pike, and falls but also explain about missing elements or added elements, even swing height requirements or hold requirements. I try to make them understand that the judge sees more...
I would spot the skill. I've walked out on the floor for a level 5 gymnast who was unsure of his BHS during a competition. With that said though, the way I understand the Men's JO is if you spot, they also get the form deductions as well. If I'm wrong someone correct me though! So if it isn't...
Have you read it dunno? I'm trying to figure out why it is so much more expensive for a hardcover...almost $100 more! Are there two versions of this book? Or is it really that expensive to pick up a hard cover?

Has anyone read this? Know anything about this? It seems like a really good book about the sport, but wanted to see if anyone had feedback on it.
Published in January of this year...should be pretty current right?
Thanks for your input, I guess I should have specified these are guys. Anyway, We argue all the time about this, at least I have a little confidence that I know something of the sport haha.
He also tells me all the time that one of our guys he sees as the next Johnathan Horton. When I tell...
I work underneath the Head Coach to my program. I have a question that I would like you guys to weigh in on.
I constantly go back and forth with him about basics and foundations for our level 8's because I feel on every event but floor and vault they are WAY behind. He doesn't think they need...
So we have just found at a child had lice while she was in her recreational class yesterday. What are some ways you have gotten rid of lice in pits? Any help will be appreciated.
I was playing on pommel horse the other day and one of my 9's saw me mess-up a full Kehr and got me playing with a 3/4 kehr. It starts on one pommel facing down horse and spins 270 degrees on one arm to a side support circle.
It's not in the code but he wants to compete it next season, does...
firs off, wow! Kohei is an amazing athlete as everyone can see, but has anyone noticed his grips? Watching a video feed on Youtube I paused on a close up of his hands and he swings with 2 hole grips? Is he swinging Ring grips or even uneven bar grips? Does anyone know for sure?
