Parents Prep Op and Level 6 concerns...please read and comment :)

Gymmommy72.....it's not my dd gym but my cousins daughters gym.....but none the less. I talked with her today and directed her to the site. She told me her dd wasn't thrilled about this and isn't sure she wants to continue at her gym...she loves her gym but really wants to do level 6. Thanks...

Parents Prep Op and Level 6 concerns...please read and comment :)

Thanks for all the replies. However if I understand it correctly, we only compete in one season (winter/spring). They are not skipping level six...they will score out and do prep op until next season rolls around. I do not see the benefit of doing this. Why not just compete 6 and then move...

Parents Prep Op and Level 6 concerns...please read and comment :)

Dunno....they still must compete 1 level 6 meet and get the "score" for moving up....then they will do prep op and move to 7 when ready. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks. I am very confused.

Parents Prep Op and Level 6 concerns...please read and comment :)

Question: My cousin's daughter's gym is doing away with level 6. They are going to do Level 5, prep op, and then level 7. She asked me my opinion...I hadn't heard of gyms doing this. Does anyone have any thoughts...good, bad, or nuetral. Seems strange to me...but like I said I had never...

First meet with new gym and daughter is a wreck...adviceneeded

Momocay...it was the coach who told me about the situation. He talked to me and was wondering if this was how she got before each meet and all. He was wonderful about it and tried to tell her it didn't really matter b/c ribbons weren't going to be given..trying to let her know she wouldn't...

Good luck to all the girls with meets this weekend

After reading lots of posts...it seems the biggest L5 issue is VAULT...wow...we are right there with everyone...dd got a 7.1 on vault at first meet (at L4 she usually was in the 9's...so it was a big surprise to her). This has made her a nervous wreck. SO I am sending GOOD LUCK wishes to all...

First meet with new gym and daughter is a wreck...adviceneeded

Okay my dd is a wreck...she has her first meet with her new gym and is really stressing out. She had a decent first L5 meet before switching gyms...now she's afraid of vault. May I add, she had a great practice earlier in the week doing wonderful...last practice she wouldn't do the vault at...

    Big gym versus little gym

Don't go by how well known a gym is...that can change over the course of time. You need to do what's in the best interest of your dd. If she wants to compete...go to the gym that can start her competing. But also look at the coaching styles at both gyms...see which one fits your dd's...

    Switch gyms or stay??

Wow...that sounds a bit like what we just went through. I have been on this site quite a bit and felt like I could have posted what you did...we ended up leaving our dd gym...it was hard and we haven't started anywhere else, YET. We are in the process of looking. My dd is very laid back but...
