We used these at a recent meet and they did not work well. One of them on each set of bars was slipping down when tension was put on the bars.

Who else has used these?

Did they work for you? What level athletes?

Furthermore... if anyone from AAI happens to see this... feel free to respond.

Why does the nut / bolt on the bottom come loose causing the tensioner to fail?

If these handles will fail anytime a coach accidentally spins them... then this is a poor design.

Is it the same issue as here? You would hope it has been addressed by now.

No… those are the tensioners that have been used for years. The ones I linked are brand new.

We had those at my last gym. Only certain gymnasts were allowed to do anything to it. Myself, I found I was pretty constantly having to tighten it. Not sure why it loses tension but it most definitely does.

They make me nervous just looking at the picture... Takes away your feel for the proper tightness. What happens as the cable and plates start to wear? Give me old-school tighteners any day.

Don't like these lind of locks on bars or vault. They always move!

I don't think I have ever seen this type of lock on a vault table... what brand are you talking about? Can you link to it?
