Ok so ive been in gymnastics for about 4 years now and i havent gotten my back handspring yet! everytime i try (with a spot) i fall on my head. The coaches keep telling me i need to jump and stuff but i still cant get it! someone help! :eek:
 
Have someone videotape your back handspring, then you can see what you're doing. Do you have a strong bridge, backbend kickover, back walkover? If not, have a coach help you learn these skills. If you just need work on jumping, then work lots of jumping. People think I'm crazy, but the best thing you can do is play basketball. You don't really have to play, just shoot. Every time you shoot the ball you are jumping...great practice.
