Who made up the first kip?

This is actually a very interesting question, and I'd be curious to hear the story behind it. I mean, we all know how long it takes to learn a kip even when we fully understand how it works -- imagine inventing a skill like that. What clued them in that such a maneuver was even possible, let alone how to execute it?

I'm going to assume it was a man, purely because MAG is older than WAG. Also Women's bars used to be much much different - more like Men's parallel bars. The earliest gym footage I've seen is from the 1930's and it is being performed then!

My guess is (after a long time trying to find out) it was an ancient greek where gymnastics originated so it was probably a man as women weren't allowed to participate or even watch the ancient olympics (for a very long time)
