So as some you maybe remember, Puma Jr broke her ankle and sustained some ligament damage when her foot slid off the spring board going into a vault on January 28. She conditioned and did a little bars from then until the gym shut down March 15, then obviously was out like everyone else after that. After an air cast, boot, then MRI and cast, she was finally cleared on May 7 (100 days!) then returned when the gym reopened on July 6. Well, yesterday, only her 5th practice back, she landed awkwardly on the ankle (it was only ROBHS!) and said it felt the same as when it broke before.... the X-ray shows no break, but didn’t at first last time either. I *think* it’s not as serious this time, she seems a little better today? She’s in a boot and crutches and we follow up with the specialist next week. She’s devastated. She was having so much fun, and happy that the skills were coming back easier than she thought. She was doing beam BHS and giants the day before. We’ve been pretty conservative with social distancing so she was missing her team so badly. This is definitely rough. Hoping it’s not a big deal and she’s back soon....so done with 2020! :(o_O:eek:

so sorry to hear about Puma Jr.s injury! I really hope it isn't too bad! Poor girl.

Hoping shes just imagining its as bad as before and really its a quick recovery fingers crossed for you and her the injury roller coaster is no fun

Sorry to hear it and hope she mends quickly. And note to self. She needs support on that ankle. Wrap or tape.

Oh shoot! Not sure if this is helpful, but my DD had the same injury last summer (on vault also). She was out until October, started training again and then competed Nov-March. By the time March had rolled around, she was in so much pain again I didn’t think she would be able to push through to State. Covid happened and she was out of the gym for 2 months. Her ankle had zero pain when the went back mid-May and seemed to have regained all strength. Two weeks ago, she rolled it doing some drills and was sure she had a repeat injury. As of this week, she is a little sore, but 100 percent back to tumbling and vaulting using KT tape and a brace for support. Good luck to her! Injuries stink!
