I voiced my worry that my injury is more severe than the doctor said to my mom and we are going to another doctor next week. After splinting it with minimal use for about a week, I am starting to go without the splint and stretching my hand a little. It seems to be a little more flexible but I'm...
Yesterday I sprained my wrist doing a roundoff bhs bhs. I'm crushed. I think something has been up with it for a while, honestly. Nothing was terribly wrong with my bhs, I think it was just slow enough that my wrist gave out. I am in a splint, and my doctor/coaches/mom have a lot of hope and...
Ok I have noticed that a lot of gymnasts do this. When back tumbling they land with feet slightly apart temporarily then snap them back together during the next skill. They would do it after a roundoff and/or before a backhandspring, but not before a flip or something. Ok so I'm wondering:

Please help! I have a very hard time doing backhandspring step outs. I jump pretty hard(although I am not the most powerful). I have been told that my legs bend at first (I guess to separate faster?). I can kind of feel it, but don't know how to fix it. No matter how hard I try to split my legs...
So I got my aerial several months ago(from a run)and then lost it the next practice. Now I can do one out of one step and a hurdle on the tumble trak(which I couldn't do before)but not from a run on floor. I think that when I was first doing them, I was landing incorrectly with my body/ankles...
PLEASE HELP!!!
Lately I have noticed that my calves hurt at practice. I haven't noticed it during normal activity, but the other day it hurt to JUMP!? Not very intense or anything, just uncomfortable(at least landing it was) We did floor first that day and I still did front tucks, robhshs, front...
Work handstand rolls and handstand to bridge without twisting. If you have a tumble trak, you can do multiple handstand pops connected and try to stay as straight as possible.
Working run technique really helped me. Watch some videos of Olympic level vaults and pay close attention to how they run. Build up speed, swing your arms and stay off of your heels. Make sure you don't slow down towards the table. A huge hurdle is really helpful. If you arm circle(I recommend...
It is not very fast, but I think that it should still work as many of my teammates use about the same amount of speed as me. The shoulders could be a problem, but I don't think that it's the whole thing. I don't feel like I use my shoulders a lot most of the time. Thanks:)
